12/31/15 Captain Marvel According to experts in a recent study, drinking just 2 cups of water, which is smaller than the size of a bottled soda, before meals can help you lose an extra five pounds yearly and will help maintain your weight loss.
1/6/16 Hungry Grandma It is important to make time for yourself. I have been taking organ lessons which I enjoy. I found myself watching less tv while I have fun practicing playing a new song.
1/9/16 Irisheyes1952 I am using the My Fitness Pal to track calories and exercise...
1/9/16 Captain Marvel

This winter, walking when the weather's nice is a super-easy way to keep fit. Even when she's short on time, go out for a few minutes. Even a five minute walk is a five minute walk. No sidewalks in your neighborhood? Try these tips: •Park your car at the back of the lot. •Get out of the office building and enjoy walking meetings. •Shovel the drive or rake the leaves instead of using a snow-blower or leaf-blower. •Get off the bus a few stops earlier. •Hike the mall, being sure to hit all the levels. •Take the stairs every chance you get. •Sign up for charity walks. •Crank the music and get your heart rate up the next time you mop or vacuum.

1/9/16 Captain Marvel Well, I spent most of the first 10 days on vacation, including a Caribbean cruise. Margaret and I had a great time. Luckily, with all the walking and exploring we did, all the great food on board didn’t hurt as much as it could have had we not.
1/9/16 SquatzAndOatz Don't skip leg day
1/14/16 Hungry Grandma Try to include vegetables in your favorite dishes, such as mushrooms, green and red peppers, and onions in your spaghetti sauce.
1/18/16 Captain Marvel Make only one meal. Instead of making something high-cal for the family and low-cal for yourself, get everyone on the same healthy-eating page. Weight loss is easier when everyone's eating the same thing -- and you're not tempted to taste someone else's high-cal food.
1/19/16 Irisheyes1952 I am drinking more water instead of juices and diet soda.
1/19/16 Scrotch If you're overweight, you should try to eat less, in order to lose weight.......
1/28/16 Hungry Grandma I have been trying to eat more fish and shellfish and less red meat.
1/28/16 Captain Marvel Be patient! While it’s hard keeping a healthy diet and maybe not seeing the results you hoped for on the scale, hang in there. Your healthier choices and habits will start to show, and then you’ll be happy you were patient and persistent. It also may help to know that keeping the weight off generally gets easier over time. Maintaining that weight that you do lose takes less effort as time goes on.
1/29/16 2legit2fit Slow and steady! Add veggies at each meal and snack and reduce your carbs serving size. Keep working on protein with each meal!
2/6/16 Cmac Too much pizza this past week
2/8/16 Captain Marvel Create a short term goal that you can accomplish - like working out 15 minutes, twice a week. Done! Then make it a bit tougher and challenge yourself knowing that you can accomplish anything!
2/18/16 Captain Marvel If you keep healthy food close by, it can help prevent you from eating something unhealthy. A few snack ideas to keep in arms reach are whole fruits, a handful of nuts, baby carrots, yogurt or a hardboiled egg (or two).
2/21/16 Hungry Grandma I am trying to avoid sweets and to eat fruit instead.
2/26/16 Cmac Diarrhea helped a lot this week. When you're sliding into first. And your pants begin to burst....
2/28/16 Captain Marvel Brush or floss your teeth after dinner, then you won’t be as tempted to have a late-night snack.
3/3/16 Drop36 It's hard to lose weight when you eat out entertaining customers
3/4/16 Hungry Grandma Even though I have had a slight set-back I am going to keep forging ahead with a renewed emphasis on exercising for at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes.
3/9/16 Captain Marvel One of the easiest ways to cut back without feeling denied is to switch to lower-calorie versions of the foods you crave. A pizza tastes just as good with reduced-fat cheese, and when you garnish low-fat ice cream with your favorite toppers, who notices those missing calories?
3/9/16 Irisheyes1952 Spending time with family and friends who are as motivated to exercise as I want to be keeps me moving ... Plus I got congrats from my doctor this week
3/17/16 Hungry Grandma Eating healthy is my new hobby. It involves finding new recipes, shopping, and cooking in a way that focuses on less salt, sugar, leaner meats, and more fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
3/19/16 Captain Marvel When eating out, so many meals are too much for one person, why not try sharing. A couple can split an entrée, or dessert. In groups, get a couple things and everyone can try a bit. You will not feel stuffed, and you will save some money.
3/30/16 Captain Marvel Spicy foods like Cayenne pepper contain Capsaicin, a compound that can boost metabolism and reduce your appetite.
4/8/16 Captain Marvel Eating whole eggs can have all sorts of benefits, including helping you lose weight. Studies show that replacing a grain-based breakfast with eggs can help you eat fewer calories for the next 36 hours, and lose more weight and more body fat. If you can’t eat eggs for some reason, then that’s fine... Any source of quality protein for breakfast should do the trick.
4/20/16 Captain Marvel Try adding foods to your diet instead of subtracting them. Add in healthy foods you love, like cherries, grapes, or snow peas. Add your favorite fruit into your lunch and breakfast cereal; add the veggies into soups, stews, and sauces.
4/28/16 Captain Marvel In addition to eating better, to get to your goals quicker, try some of these... With the warmer weather, do more stuff outside. Go for a walk, or hang out friends, kids, grandkids who are active. Try dancing to the music when you tune into your favorite music show on TV or the radio. During commercials pedal your stationery bike, walk the treadmill, or slip in a little strength training doing bicep curls with cans of your favorite fizzy beverage as weights. It doesn't matter exactly what you do, so long as you're up and active. Aim for at least 15 minutes, but who knows? If you get really engrossed, you just might just want to do it longer and longer
