HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO MY METRO FRIENDS!

In order to make sure everyone has a safe holiday, I have included in this months' article a game that is not only fun, and will also check your reaction time. If you can't put the sheep to bed, then have someone else who can drive you home.

OUR JULY DRINKS

Born On the 4th of July
 
1 1/2 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
1 1/2 oz sloe gin
fill with cream

Pour blue Curacao into an ice-filled Collins glass. Carefully layer both the sloe gin and cream on top of the ice. (The result should be a blue and red drink with tendrils of white shooting through the colors
 Happy 4th
 

1/2 oz grenadine
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz Blue Curacao liqueur

Layer in the order given. Pour into a shot glass.
Christmas in July
 
3 oz orange juice
1 oz vodka
1 oz Midori melon liqueur
grenadine syrup

Mix the OJ, Vodka and Midori in a shaker and then slowly add the grenadine so that is sinks to the bottom. Red, Green, and delicious! Also works with crushed ice.
Passion in JULY
 
1 oz strawberry liqueur
1 oz passion-fruit juice
1 oz pineapple juice
1 oz lemonade

Shake and strain into an old-fashioned glass three-quarters filled with broken ice. Add lemonade, and garnish with a sugar-dipped strawberry. Serve it to your impressed guests.
Fireworks in the sky
 
4 oz Champagne
1/3 oz gin
1/2 oz tangerine schnapps

Pour into a champagne flute, garnish with a twist of orange, serve.
TNT Margarita
 
1 1/2 oz Patron silver tequila
1 oz Rockstar Juiced Guava energy drink
1/2 oz triple sec
1/2 oz sweet and sour mix

Rub the rim of a margarita glass with lemon juice, and dip in salt. Stir all ingredients in a cocktail shaker WITHOUT ice. Strain into glass over a handful of ice cubes. 

Improvised Explosive Device
 
1 shot Bacardi® 151 rum
1 shot Jagermeister® herbal liqueur
1 shot Goldschlager® cinnamon schnapps
1 shot Jose Cuervo® 1800 tequila

Combine Jagermeister (smoke), Goldschlager (fragmentation), and Jose Cuervo tequila (because we had 1 Mexican in the platoon) in a highball or old-fashioned glass. After all ingredients have been combined drop some lit Bacardi 151 rum into the glass and shoot. After a couple of seconds when the intital shock has wore off you yell BAM!! This recipe was created by 2nd Platoon, Military Police Company C, United States Marine Corps (Reserve), quote "After 2 combat tours in Iraq over the past 2 years, we decided to honor those of us injured and to toast our fellow Marines killed by IEDs in Iraq. NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

Honeybee
Lemonade

 
2 cups soda water
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 tbsp honey

Place all ingredients into a blender jar. Cover, and whiz on medium speed until well blended. Pour into a Collins glass, serve.
My Honey's Mango Smooth Surprise
 

peeled mango seeded and cubed
1 tbsp white sugar
2 tbsp honey
1 cup nonfat milk
1 tsp lemon juice
1 cup ice cubes

Place the mango, sugar, and honey in a blender pitcher; pour in the milk and lemon juice, and blend until smooth. Divide the ice cubes between two serving glasses. Pour the mango smoothie over ice
Sherbet
Surprise

 
2 liters soda
1 gal fruit juice
2 pints sherbet

Mix the carbonated soft drink (like 7-Up) with different flavored fruit juices, and float the sherbet on top before serving
