Saturday May 4, 2024 at 12 noon Mt Olivet Cemetery, 17100 Van Dyke Ave, Detroit, Michigan. The celebration will continue at a location TBD where each guest will be responsible for their own food and beverages.

Jack was the second of seven children born to Emma (Houtteman) and Arthur Schmelzer and grew up on Parker St in Detroit.

Jack attended Cass Technical High School, served honorably in WWII and retired after a long career with Manufacturers National Bank. He loved pigeon racing in the Belgian community, participating for many years in the sport and was proud of his achievements.

As a faithful Catholic, Jack served and supported his local parish. He was well known for his continual good works in the community.

Uncle Jack joins his parents and siblings Margaret Lipinsky, Jean McCarty, Joann Murray, Larry and Tom in eternal life. He is survived by brother Richard and sister in law Lois as well as many nieces and nephews.
