Trying to lose weight and become more healthy is easier when friends do it together. It can be additional motivation to help stay on track. Our main focus is to lose weight and become more healthy in 2016, and the challenge is simple... to lose the weight together from January 1, 2016 to June 1, 2016. Our team target goal is 10%

Each contestant will log their current weight at least once every 10 days via the form below. Also, users can provide helpful tips or good links to assist and help encourage others in this quest. Check out the section below to find some good links and helpful tips to keep that New Years Resolution on losing weight.

ED NOTE: Joining and check-ins are anonymous, as are any comments or tips you make. Please use the same ' screen name' you created to report your weight, rather than using your real name.


Use the form below to log your current weight after January 1. Come back often to update your progress. Please post at least every 1 to 10 days to update your progress. A reminder email will come to our contestestants on the 10th, 20th, and 30th of the month, along with a helpful weight loss tip. If you would like to share any tips or successes you had, please add them on the form as well.

This winter, walking when the weather's nice is a super-easy way to keep fit. Even when she's short on time, go out for a few minutes. Even a five minute walk is a five minute walk. No sidewalks in your neighborhood? Try these tips: •Park your car at the back of the lot. •Get out of the office building and enjoy walking meetings. •Shovel the drive or rake the leaves instead of using a snow-blower or leaf-blower. •Get off the bus a few stops earlier. •Hike the mall, being sure to hit all the levels. •Take the stairs every chance you get. •Sign up for charity walks. •Crank the music and get your heart rate up the next time you mop or vacuum.

1/9/16 Captain Marvel Well, I spent most of the first 10 days on vacation, including a Caribbean cruise. Margaret and I had a great time. Luckily, with all the walking and exploring we did, all the great food on board didn’t hurt as much as it could have had we not.

1/18/16 Captain Marvel Make only one meal. Instead of making something high-cal for the family and low-cal for yourself, get everyone on the same healthy-eating page. Weight loss is easier when everyone's eating the same thing -- and you're not tempted to taste someone else's high-cal food.

1/28/16 Captain Marvel Be patient! While it’s hard keeping a healthy diet and maybe not seeing the results you hoped for on the scale, hang in there. Your healthier choices and habits will start to show, and then you’ll be happy you were patient and persistent. It also may help to know that keeping the weight off generally gets easier over time. Maintaining that weight that you do lose takes less effort as time goes on.
1/29/16 2legit2fit Slow and steady! Add veggies at each meal and snack and reduce your carbs serving size. Keep working on protein with each meal!
