WHO PUT THE 'POP" IN THE
BLUES & GRASS PAGE?

I confess, I added “pop” to this page, because, well, I’ve just like so many kinds of music. I included the old Beatles tune “Yellow Submarine” this month because, in April, I hooked up with a drummer pal and he laid down Ringo’s old beat with this song.

At open mics, my faves to play are “Nobody Knows You When You’re Down & Out,” “San Francisco Bay Blues,” “Lookin’ Out My Back Door,” “Wagon Wheel,” “Sunny Afternoon” and “Alberta, Alberta,” among others.

So, what’s next month? Will the page be Blues & Grass & Pop & Reggae? And then & Hip Hop? And then & Cockroaches music? Who knows?

For now, get out all your old Beatles tunes and enjoy ‘em. Oh, yeah, I forgot another one of my favorites to play: “Back in the U.S.S.R.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah.
