SAWDUST

FIRST ANNUAL
METRO LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

ED NOTE: Sawdust was the first animated cartoon in the McCarty Metro. Created by Danny McCarty in 1967, the hand-drawn Sawdust brought great joy to the McCarty family with it's comedic overtones. Current Metro trouble makers, Peanut & Jocko hail Sawdust for paving the way for cartoons like themselves. Current Metro Editor, Kelly McCarty, remembers that DJ put a lot of his own comedy styles and one-liners into the strip. Although we couldn't find any of the original drawings, Sawdust will go into Metro lore as the first recipient of the Metro Lifetime Achievement Club.
