THE NEXT DIXIE CHICKS?

Fall Fest rocked! Metro bluegrass reporter Mike McCarty and his wife, Karen, enjoyed the bands at the 11th annual Fall Fest bluegrass music festival in mid-September in Lowell, Mich. Hard Ryde was a tight, award-winning Canadian band with awesome instrumentals from the four guys.

One band in particular brought the house down – The Wright Sisters, a talented trio from Indiana. Their ages are 19, 18 and 16. Katie, Lindsay and Megan wowed the crowd with traditional bluegrass, terrific instrumentals, inspiring harmonies and a personal witness to their Christian faith.

In one song, the three lined up behind one another, playing a banjo, fiddle and guitar in an unusual way – each picked or bowed her own instrument with the right hand while fretting the instrument behind with the left hand. They called it “The Mixed-Up Song.”

You’ll be hearing from The Wright Sisters, again. In the meantime, visit their Web site:
