My trip to California was great. Southern California experienced historical amounts of rain that weekend, but it could not dampen my visit. If it was Michigan, the amount of precipitation received in LA would have resulted in 3 feet of snow, but temps in the 60's insured it stayed rain. Jerry picked me up from the airport, and we immediately headed off to the beach for a little lunch. After a nice meal, we went to his house, not before running by OJ's and Nicole's houses. We drove from one to the other within the prosecutions time-line. You know... I think he did it!!! We went to a fabulous restaurant called Mortons in Hollywood for dinner. After drinks, we were seated at a table close to that of "Judge Judy" from television. After a fine fish meal (after all, it WAS Friday during Lent), we headed back to Valencia.

Saturday was a fun day. Jer and I went to the Burbank Hilton and met up with several celebs at the Hollywood Collectors Show. It was pouring rain when we arrived, and while under the awning, Marcia Wallace (Bob Newhart Show, The Simpsons) ran up with her umbrella, looked at me and said, "What the f--- am I doing here anyway!". Anyway, we talked to a lot of celebrities, got autographs and pictures. (My pictures are below. I defer Jerry's pictures to his website West Coast Connection. Check it out.) After the show, Jerry and I hooked up with childhood friend and Hollywood producer Dennis Devine for lunch. We shared a lot of memories and 30+ years of catching up on everyone's lives. The weather started to break and the sun came out, so we hit the hot tub and pool for an afternoon dip. We hung out around the house for the afternoon, and then joined the entire family for a nice dinner at "Islands". After dinner, Jer and I set out for one last night of clubbing. We check out a few night spots with entertainment, but stayed for the most part in a loud rock & roll bar. The band there was great. I video taped a short selection of the Kinks classic "You Really Got Me" just for my brother Mike (the video is rather dark)

Sunday came too quickly and I knew it was time to go. Jerry got me to the airport, and my flight going out was right on time. As we flew to Detroit, the pilot informed everyone that Metro runways were closed because of a snow and ice storm in Michigan. We hovered around in the air for about an hour before the pilots decided to fly to Indianapolis to refuel. On the ground, I phoned Margaret (who was waiting at Metro to pick me up) 2 hours after my scheduled landing time. After another hour on the ground, a 40 minute flight back to Detroit, and circling once again for another hour while they cleared planes to land on the one runway that was open, the pilot announced in an exasperated voice "We're Here!". I finally hit the sheets on my bed around 3 am. Thank goodness that at 5 am, I got a phone call that Fraser Schools were closed because of the weather.

I met up with Ron Howards' little brother Clint. He has appeared in 33 motion pictures including Apollo 13 (pictured), Austin Powers, The Grinch, and Backdraft. He was pleasantly surprised when Jerry asked him if he had any pictures of him from his favorite movie "Night Shift". Clint Howard has also been many TV shows. I'm not sure of his geographical skills when I told him I was visiting from Detroit, and he replied "Yeah, I got an uncle from Minneapolis"
One of my favorite movies of all time was "The Wedding Singer" with Adam Sandler. Well, Adam was not in town, I did hook up however with Ellen Dow, who played the woman rapper in the movie. I asked her how it was working with Adam Sandler and she replied "Fine, except for all the nipple-twisting that was going on". (If you don't get it, you didn't see the movie) I say hip.. hop..

The woman I have had a crush on for many years (since early Happy Days) is Linda Purl. After Happy Days, she has also appeared in Matlock and several movies. Currently, she is owns a record label and has come out with her own CD. Here's a NEWSFLASH... I still have that crush!!!

I met up with a couple of guys from the Soprano's. Richard Portman and John Fiori posed for the pictures after they shook-down Jerry and took all his money. After the meeting Portman and Fiori were later seen casing the joint.
