Once again this month, I would like to thank all of loyal readers and writers who help make this site go. I am always impressed by the number of articles and submissions that I receive each month. There is always room for more articles, photos, and submissions. EVERYONE is asked to help. In February, we will surpass 6000 hits in less than 2 years. IMPRESSIVE. Once again, thank you.

January was not the best month in recent memory. On January 2, 2005, we lost a really good and gentle man. Adolph Hasse, father of Karen McCarty, passed away at the age of 93. I was working on some words that I would include on this page that would express my thoughts, but I remembered that at the funeral home, I picked up a memory card, and on it was a poem in which eloquently captures the feeling of loss that was felt. Our prayers go to Adolph and his family. Rest in Peace, Bunny.

June 26, 2004

On January 12, I had Gall Bladder surgery. The actual operation was a little more difficult than first expected, as my gall bladder was inflamed and caused a lot of bleeding, but after a 2+ hour surgery, Dr. Rajpal got that sucker out of me. Two days into the recovery, I developed an allergic reaction to the medication. I had trouble breathing, and broke out in a rash. A trip to the ER set things back on track though, and I went back to work 12 days after the surgery. Thank you to all of our readers for the love shown to me through your thoughts, prayers, and simple get-well wishes over the past month as I recovered. You all really mean a lot to me.

As I finish recovering, I thought a lot of my problems probably stem from my diet. I don't necessarily remember seeing a picture of Buffalo Hot Wings on the chart of the 4 basic food groups in my elementary school nutrition class some 37 years ago. As I pledge to eat healthier, I came across some foods that may help some people looking to put some health back in their diets, so I am including this as my final thought this month. Why, you may ask... because I want to live to be 93 and dance at MY grandchildren's wedding one day too. God Bless All.
